KOREAN CINEMA GENRE

The Comoedia is one of the oldest theatres in the world. It is located in Lyon (France), in the city where cinema was born. The history of cinemas is told through the life of this theater. Saved from the demolition in 2003, it reopened in 2006, thanks to the commitment of passionate figures.

The little poetic laboratory by Jean Rouaud, winner of the Prix Goncourt in 1990, makes us discover the wealth of worlds and literature that influenced the writer, and gave birth to a work, a style. With what he calls his “aboveground imaginary”, the territories of his childhood are also presented, marked with the seal of a invasive religiosity.

THE WHITE BUILDING

Commissioned by the city of Phnum Penh, in Cambodia to the Cambodian architect Vann Molyvan, (who worked with Le Corbusier), his “ideal” construction was brutally interrupted by the arrival of the red Khmers in 1975. The building got occupied in an anarchy way by inhabitants who installed electricity & water. The film shows in a very artistic way this fascinating building.


MALLET STEVENS, ARCHITECT OF THE RENEWAL

Publicly criticized during his short career in the interwar period, Robert Mallet-Stevens, architect and decorator, is finally receiving recognition by his peers.
